Due to an unexpected apple tree delivery, Peter and I made a quick trip down to Riklig Ström to get it in the ground and tend to the garden and Gerards. We have to head back to NoVA soon, but it has been an eventful day so far...

Another beautiful and generous harvest from our garden of benign neglect! Harvesting the Viking purple potatoes is my favorite, it is like digging for treasure! Next weekend we will be planting for our fall garden.

We have one more apple tree coming this week (a cross-pollinating variety), but we planted our "sweet sixteen" apple tree in what will someday be our grove!  You can request your homemade pies from our apples in 3-4 years.

Next weekend the Gerards will be sifted to harvest their vermicompost (worm ), so today was just a quick feeding. We decided to let one bowl of very lucky Gerards free in our outdoor compost pile!  Go super composters!!!
