Meet Tilda and Torvald, the Fowler Toads, who gave me a little jump early this morning when I was weeding our garden. Friends who know me well understand that when there is an unexpected animal that turns up when I'm not ready for it...I scream and dance and make a general commotion to prevent any impending attack from said animal. Our neighborhood dogs and roosters thought I was in peril and joined their voices to my screaming. Sorry, neighbors!
After my heart stopped pounding, I realized how awesome our new little garden friends are. Peter and I gave them Swedish names since they were obviously drawn to the Scandinavian vibe we've got going at Ricklig Ström.
Mr. Google-pants helped us identify their species, male/female, and confirmed their behavior of burying themselves when it gets hot and to hibernate in winter. We hope they will stay and enjoy our little flower garden!
